Short flush not working?

Hi, The short flush on the Siamp dual flush system on my toilet springs straight back without releasing water into the pan. It works if I keep it pressed, and the long flush works fine. I have included photos.

I'm confused , you're saying both the short flush and the long flush works?

Ok, if I press and release the short flush button, it immediately springs back up without letting water into the pan. In other words it's either stopped working or needs adjusting. Can I adjust it or should I buy a new component?

You should be able to untwist the flush from the base , chances are it just needs a good clean and run under the tap , whilst you're at it give the cistern a good clean too

If that fails replacements are only a tenner
