Thanks in advance for anyone that might be able to help.
The house I’m working on has the alarm running off the lighting fuse. So every time I turn fuse back on , the alarm goes off.
Not when I turn off!..From that do I assume the internal battery is shot?

My main question is regarding changing the keypad. The downstairs keypad buttons are not responding, or at least the buttons that correspond to the code. Fortunately there is an upstairs keypad to use.
If I were to replace this keypad, has it usually got a tamper device on it?
Thanks for reading through.

Post picture of pcb first ....if the battery resistor is burnt out on the pcb you are wasting your time

Thanks both for your replies.

The alarm is working from the keypad upstairs.
From that I’d assume pcb ok?

Yes, they aren’t too expensive, the keypad! Did it have a tamper device?

Best to show a picture of the PCB.

the keypad may not be working and can be replaced, however, if the battery goes flat on these, the panels pcb can get damaged, this relates to the voltage regulation on the board and can cause havoc.

It is probably almost as cheap to replace the panel and the dodgy keypad at the same time, than replace just the keypad or panel.

However with a picture of the panels PCB we can advise if both actually need replacing.

Ok thanks.
Client obviously has the security code, but doesn’t know the engineers code.
I’m assuming we are in for a bit of noise? Or does the security code give me any breathing space.?
