Hi all,

The boiler has no blue light and the red light is flashing fast. I was quite sure it was the PCB board as it was replace 7 years ago and i've read they are quite common to go and the flashing light is what they do. I ordered a refurbished one on ebay but it is still doing the same thing, I rang the company up and they are sending me another one to try, but can anyone think of anything else it can be in case it isn't that? Could it be the big transformer that sits in the board?

Thanks!

Did you even attempt to reset the boiler before assuming what the problem was without testing anything and throwing money at it?

Yes I did... The board was only £27 so thought it was worth a go after all the normal average user troubleshooting steps failed. I have found the testing flow diagrams online for the boiler and if the board isn't bad it is pointing to either the pressure switch or the fan. Will do more poking around with the multimeter later and see if one of them is showing signs that it is broke. The spade connectors for the switch looks like it's completely made of rust now! So that could also be an issue maybe.

So yes you threw money at it without testing anything even though you own a multimeter

That is not particularly cost effective fault finding

Well rust will inhibit the flow of electricity so I would be starting there

I wish you luck
