Apple equivalent combo boiler

I have a good installer who has come reccomended - This is why I want to change the boiler - Its actually still working but it looks like its on its last legs and previously had sludge .....

So now i have an installer I just need to find a good boiler - Its a small two bed flat with combi boiler already there and easy access as on ground floor.

I know I need a flue / magnatec filter new nest controls (we have an old honeywell wired thermostat) and a boiler!!! The worcester 2000 fits the bill as it is 25KW and the rightish size but without nest compatability it sucks!~
Go for a Worcester easy control instead of the nest then, it's more expensive but it'll be covered under the he guarantee, the nest won't be

The clue was in the "I prefer" o_O
Then your judgement must be poor, recommending manufacturers whose first priority when attending site is to find as many defects with the installation as possible in order to void the warranty, and the engineers have a competition amongst themselves on how many they can do in a week. o_O

This thread is remarkable and shows how confusing the boiler market is in the Uk and how tradesmen can all suggest different things.

I’m after a simple 25 kw combo boiler and after watching Allen hart on YouTube and reading around this forum I cannot figure out what to go for. This is a really simple question about which boiler to use. Maybe I should have asked which boiler is installed in most homes as a way to figure out which one to go for. Herd immunity and all

edit money is not a problem it’s for a smart flat in london

Allen Hart is another one I wouldn't pay a lot of attention to.

I'll be honest I'm very Worcester bias. But you won't have an issue with them regarding your guarantee. They definitely have their negative points, but when they do breakdown, there's a no quibble approach to fixing it

which would give you an idea of which boilers have the best public facing advertising.

One of the boilers that doesn't have public facing adverts is HERE
Thanks but as i said before I need to stick to household names in case I come to sell it - The first thing owners look at is the boiler and there is something reassuring of having a worcester or valliant - Ideal always seemed cheap to me but I dont know as much as you guys do

I was going to be dangerous and choose a vieserman but honestly the worcester 2000 looks pretty neat to me and is actually pretty cheap ! It also means that if I stay for another ten years in the flat I can replace with another worcester (they seem to always be backwards compatible)

This is a really simple question about which boiler to use.

Might seem simple enough but.....

Ask 10 different engineers and probably get 10 different answers (as you’ve found out). I like Vaillant and don’t mind some pottertons and Worcester’s. Customer/engineer support is a big one for me.

There’s a whole host of manufacturers out there, all perform differently, but essentially most get to the end result without fault, heating and hot water.

Vaillant and Glow-Worm both under same umbrella different prices

Worcester

Ideal

Baxi - Main - Potterton under same umbrella different prices

Veissmann

Vokera

Intergas

All decent boilerss all act in different ways but like I said all get to the end result of heating and hot water.

I’m in the market to replace my main combo boiler which is ten years old and is 25kw.

I simply don’t know which boiler to choose from. I want a boiler that looks nice and futuristic like apple design and have nest thermostats.
I was going to choose the Worcester Bosch but people on here don’t seem to like it and it doesn’t work with nests

so which combo boiler should I use that has touchscreen and looks smart and has modern tech.
A vies man vitedons 100???
You mean over priced and over hyped...That will be WB then.

No idea what you're on about. Had a bad experience? I've never had an issue, the couple of times I've had to call them out they've sorted the problem without question

Except of course it isn't a simple question really, as different installers have different ideas of what is best. Add into that mix the complication that some boiler manufacturers' installer loyalty schemes require a minimum number of boilers each year in order to be able to offer their clients the maximum warranty benefits, and that others will simply go for what's easy to sell rather than what might be best engineered, and you're bound to end up with a confusing picture.

As for what's installed in most homes, unsurprisingly it's the brands who spend most on advertising. A manufacturer spending millions a year on targeted advertising will sell more boilers than one which relies on installers recognising a quality well-engineered product and choosing to offer that to their customers instead.

Exactly muggles. And that’s why I came into this forum to get some unbiased advice rather than what the installer has as sloppy spares or incentives to sell

still undecided on which boiler to go for. Viessman 100 but only because it’s been so well pushed on the forum
