Loose neutral wire

I've recently had my house rewired all is working ok but when i plug in my socket tester on both ring mains there is a neutral fault, would this indicate a fault at the board or has a neutral popped out on a socket? How would i locate this neutral without removing sockets? Only thing that is pointing toward board is that the fault is showing on two separate circuits. Any help appreciated

If a neutral came all would not be working OK. I would be checking the socket tester on a known good circuit, maybe at a relatives.

What rubbish if a Neutral came out the sockets would still work ok.

I seem to recall that these testers can indicate a Neutral fault when its actually a poor earth, the way these things work causes it.
Can you get the Actual voltage safely measured between L and N, L and E, N and E

If its all sockets probably the CU.

Or check the tester in another house

I could get my multi meter out but dont fancy taking all the sockets off the wall again

You could ask the electrician to come and check it out , but you should verify the accuracy of your tester first.

Then why the need for a neutral in the first place?

There are many open circuit rings still working where a neutral has come out, this is the main dis advantage over a radial circuit

The socket would have two neutrals, so there would still be a Neutral connected

I think these exchanges may be getting a little silly. Whilst all-but-one of the sockets on a ring final will definitely "work OK" if the neutral 'comes out of' (or 'becomes loose at') one of them, I would think it is probably fairly unlikley that just one of the two neutrals at one socket would 'come out/loose' - so it's very possible that one of the sockets (the one with the problem) will not "work OK".

... so I think people are probably quibbling about what "A neutral coming out" actually means.
