Combi boiler ideal logic

I was shocked to, nothing on the flu or at least he never said anything and he only looked at the flu to ensure it was connected. Got hold of the gent I had hoped to get to come but he was unable to come so still looking for someone else now. He suspected it would be heat exchanger or pcb fault also, but without checking none the wiser. I am pretty dissapointed with Ideal, but they did call and offer a direct discounted boiler supplied direct but not a fitting service, I may take that option or elect for another make, depends on costs and if I can find someone local to fit, they all want to supply and fit i guess. So have to find a fitting cost option to make my mind up, unless I find another engineer to fix, apparently the heat ex are costly parts, so boiler option may be the way to go.

What boiler did they offer at a discount. It’s probably cheaper to buy it from a third party

they offered two im looking for details of which, but a little reluctanct to take the offer of another crap boiler. If it was mine i would definately not take another ideal, but alas not my total decision on this one.

Update I have as someone suggested got back in touch with Ideal and expressed my thoughts on the situation and performance, They asked me to confirm all details so it could be looked into, and still waiting to hear back. Thought id hear today but nothing, total shower of poop.

Update the situation. I have spoken further to Ideal and a resolution has been reached. They are comming out this week to resolve, they gave me two options and explained further the fix call out differences which is important if you think of doing it as I did.

option 1 - call out one day fixed fee £299 charged by Ideal for Ideal and Ideal will send engineer and will fix regardless. No further cover after same day fix.

option 2. call out fixed fee, cost spread over 6 months £299. and some pence giving you 6 months cover after fix. Charges taken by ideal but not for Ideal this is an crappy insurance company that will only fix under a certain cost. Not explained and that is why it was not fixed as they had reached the limit of part change cost. It is still the Ideal engineer but different rules apply.

They are now comming out again as Ideal and actually going to resolve in a different way that I have agreed with them and a fee charged and paid. Fingers crossed will be resolved this week.

The engineer to my suprise never tested anything except gas levels but did confirm the other stuff all ok. He was stumped to be honest. This is why he said the next stage would be to try the heat exchanger and the pcb, which led Ideal to state it is beyond economical repair.
Freekin ell.

Confirms my thoughts.Ideal and their boilers are still Crap.

I’ll tell you right now this was not an ideal engineer and the guy is talking ****e. It may be home serve or D&G. But there is no way ideal walk away half way though a repair.
IF, and it’s a big if, it is true DM me the engineers name or your job number. Cause if that was one of my guys he’d get a boot in the hole.
i can’t see us offering you a payment for another fixed price repair on top of the one you have had already. It just doesn’t add up.

Shambolic. I have no idea why you think I am talking ----e as you say. I have no reason to and I can 100 percent gurantee he was directly from Ideal. I am not going to send his name or his number of which I have both. I have spoken with the Ideal senior management and he has been helpful also confirmed this and is also the person who resolved . If you are the boss then it must have been you who I have been speaking to. There is now a working boiler although it is not the original one.
If off course you think that myself and the ideal man are talking crap and you work for them pm me your details (name and position). I will happily send him your thoughts. I very much doubt that will happen and personally would recomend you do not if infact you are employed at Ideal.

Just also to add, the person who came this time suggested if the Heat Exchanger was changed he would have been confident that was the remedy, however that was from a first visual and not any testing, as again it is now a different unit for which he installed.
