Hi all,

I'm looking for some recommendations on which vinyl matt to use to avoid picture framing? I've been using Leyland vinyl matt but my ceilings look terrible even when I've been rolling wet to wet in straight lines.

I'm looking at Johnstone's Covaplus but would appreciate any feedback or recommendations.

Which Leyland Matt?

In terms of method, my ceiling was skimmed a few years back and painted but I could see some unevenness and sanded it level. I use a 12in Albany medium pile roller with an extension pole and even out the paint on the roller using the tray before rolling in straight lines in the direction the light enters the room. I make an effort to keep a wet edge by overlapping areas, but I'm finding this paint very difficult to avoid picture framing or streaks.

What about the cutting in how do you do that?

You should roll in all directions and then finish off with a light roll in the direction of the light

I cut in using a mini roller. I've tried alternating the direction but still end up with streaks :(
