Which SCMS to go for?

I love my Makita cordless tools and was planning on buying the LS1019. Since it’s not battery powered, there’s no need to stick to Makita if there are better options out there.

Mainly for small DIY and garden projects (cutting decking, making planters, not sure if I’d be able to cut oak sleepers on them). I could probably bodge things together using my circular saw but thought SCMS would offer more accuracy and versatility.

Which SCMS would you recommend?

Oak sleepers? How thick are they? TBH I'd probably tackle them with a 9in/230mm portable rip saw (with a 12 in speed square) and go for a smaller SCMS for the othet work. You haven't put a budget on this, so I think it's a bit difficult to advise

Not sure yet. I was planning on a raised bed/low retaining wall at the back of the garden, 30-50cm high. I looked into woodblocx as an alternative.

The LS1019 is around £500-550 depending on which website I look at (annoyingly the ones I normally use don’t have it in stock). So that would be my budget.
