Beko dishwasher Di1254ap filling and emptying but not starting a cycle

Hi, gave up on this before lockdown and work been so busy since March this is the first time able to look at again.

The dishwasher starts by emptying any water inside (if there is any) then proceeds to fill up (vibrating motor sound heard). Then there is a heating noise like a coffee machine and it all stops.

Can then get it to empty again by resetting the unit and starting a new program.

I have tried the following

- no leak or water on the anti-flood tray. Switch seems to be operating
- the wash motor turns freely (had it open in March)
- replaced the heater as had a brand new spare from a previous dishwasher.
- no blockages in pipes in or out of the unit

So far from spending this morning searching forums (nothing with exact same unit though) is that it could be the capacitor for the wash motor or the motor itself still?

I tried to repair a Zanussi before we replaced with this Beko and spent over £100 on parts and still failed to get it to work.

Any guidance before I take it out (integrated one) and start to tackle the wash motor and spend money or replacements? Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the door latch?

Thanks for the reply. I am presuming that the door latch is good, since it starts emptying or filling when I set the programme and close the door. Or am I missing something?

No don't presume, the latch can be faulty and the dishwasher fills up

A quick test is to press the door firmly in ( doesn't always work though the latch will need testing or bypassing)

Thanks. The washer starts consistently when the door is closed and fills every time. It stops consistently when the cycle gets to the end of filling with water. This has been tested approx. 30 times so this would lead me to think the latch is okay.

What would be your next thought please?

Never ever ever assume , test the latch or bypass it to eliminate it then you can move onto something else which might have failed

It is the biggest mistake in fault finding to assume something is ok and not bothering to test it

The wash pump isn't kicking in,possible wash pump capacitor, can you hear it humming before the heating noise.
You have the correct sequence, drain,fill, but then no wash pump.

Hi thanks for your replies. Have had time again today to test the switch (bybassed) and makes no difference, so we can eliminate that one. I tried a new capacitor this morning (for the sake of £12) and this makes no difference.

My thoughts are now that it is probably a programmer issue which will probably be too costly?

Any other ideas please? I don't like to be beat!

The wash pump would of been humming if it needed a new capacitor. The only other thing to have a look at is the wiring loom in the door for a broken wire.

Thanks, I couldn't see anything wrong with the wiring. I did actually get it to start pumping water through into the washer for 15 mins. I didn't do anything different (tried the same process of resetin the machine about 100 times in the course of this).

So perhaps the issue is electrical or electronic as in the programmer/control unit.

It all comes to a halt when the tank has just filled and I managed to get a fault code of E2 from an IFT which apparently means 'no water'.

Could a faulty flow sensor cause the programme to halt?
