What year was it?

Johnny said he wants police to be:

today.

And Andy wants innocent people to be hanged
I stand by what I said.
"tougher and not afraid to be complained about" doesn't mean that they can be free to shoot innocent people.
It means that when a do gooder intimidates them with the treat of a complaint, the officers should just carry on doing their job, knowing that their bosses will not sack them because Karen complained.
As usual you're talking boll@x.

So you draw the line at killing with a gun.

What about a little light roughing up?

"falling down the stairs" to the detention suite?

Do you draw the line at a broken nose and missing teeth?

You say you want complaints to be ignored.

What is the level of complaint that you think is justified, and what is unjustified?

.

The examples I quoted happened in England, and you are old enough to remember them.

I am aware of that

I don't recall all of the plod fit ups that occurred over the years

Guildford pub bombing fit ups

Birmingham 6

Maguires

Etc etc

I am aware of that

I don't want those days brought back by police being allowed to do such things, and complaints to be ignored as johnny wants.

filly can't bring himself to accept that beating false confessions out of innocent suspects allowed investigations into the real culprits to fall away.

So we have:
innocents punished

guilty go free

Completely wrong.

And that's what johnny wants.

But that's what's happening now John.

We need a police force that has more freedom and discretion. The police are paid out of my pocket to protect me and my family, friends, neighbours, community etc. I want my money back.

The freedom to beat suspects up, to make them confess to crimes they didn't commit?

The freedom to be violent criminals?

The freedom to have complaints ignored by senior officers?

You make it sound like that's all they ever did, 100% of the time.

No I don't

I say I do not want them to be permitted to do that at all.

how often do you think is OK?

Twenty people a week? A day? A month? 50% of the time?

If complaints are ignored, there is no limit.

Don’t think he said complaints should be ignored. Just that police should be able to do the job without fear of complaints. We know certain elements of society are largely ignored by police. I don’t think we need tougher police, more intelligent perhaps. But the culture is a product of tradition, unionisation and leadership. Little can change.

Read this post and you know what we're up against.
Twisting one's opinion completely.
I would be worried if it was done deliberately, fortunately i know it's only lack of neurons.

You are a right wing supporter.
You supported police cuts
You support Tory party giving out bogus contracts to their mates....money that could be spent on police protecting your family.

I didn't hear you moaning when Robert Jenrick help his mate avoid paying £40million in tax. Money that could've been used to pay the police to protect your family.
