I have plasterdust everywhere from after the walls and ceilings being plastered.

I have hoovered up as much as I can and used a striff broom but there are still loads of plaster dust.

Scraper, brush, hoover

I have tried that but I am left with this. It seems ground in. Does this plaster dust ruin the floor? It will be carpeted over but thinking about the possible health risks and damage to the wood.

The biggest health concern is your’e stressing about absolutely nothing.

you can loosen the dust by scrubbing with water, but instead of letting it dry back down into the wood, clean off the slurry with an old towel. Rinse in a bucket, wring out, repeat. You will be amazed at the amount of plaster sludge at the bottom of the bucket. Do a metre at a time.

The plaster dust will wear off and penetrate through carpet, making it dirty, but you can get a tough paper to put down to block it.
The plaster dust is not likely to do you much lasting damage, though it may cause sore eyes, dry skin, a cough and sore throat. I find it very irritant.

Poor Benny is likely to suffer more

I just thought it was acidic as it was mentioned in here.

you should not let British gypsum any where near untreated hardwood.

as said previously, plaster is very acidic and reacts with hardwood.

your plasterer should have advised you to seal the wood prior to plastering.

Would underlay block it though? Got a plasterer in now ... although probably going to put laminate flooring down
