The fan is indeed to simply extract bad smells. Not planning too many ‘bad smells’ in there but since there is no windows I wanted to avoid a situation where the whole downstairs of the house smells ‘bad’.

decided against the overrun timer because of the infrequency we would have bad smells in there. When there is we will just keep the light and fan both on for 5 minutes. It will also have an isolator switch.

I have an electrician friend coming today to hook power up. He Said given the really low load (spotlight and 17w fan) that he can break it into a lighting circuit that I exposed when pulling up floors for the extractor ducting.
 
When I built a downstairs loo off the hall, I didn’t bother with an extractor but it does have a window. Anyway, Mrs Mottie has strictly banned number 2’s in there, saying it’s for number 1’s only! I often have a sneaky number 2 in there though when she’s out, just for the fun of it. :LOL:
