A perfect example of language evolution due solely to people's mistakes.
Double negative to my mind (well, not a conventional double negative, but I'm sure you know what I mean!)
As often discussed, other than for the necessary 'introduction of new words for new things' (which is a different matter), essentially all 'evolution of language' necessarily starts with 'mistakes' (things that are, at the time, 'incorrect').
Hence, whilst I have no problem with the fact that some people oppose any/all evolution of language, I think that those who oppose evolution 'which started with mistakes' have to realise, and acknowledge, that they are effectively opposing all evolution of language.
