Hi all

So the wall where our new range oven is going (electric oven, gas hob) is on an angle. So I am having to build out the wall to straighten it up. (otherwise the oven doesn't line up flush with the worktop/units, or I'm left with a big gap at the back of oven on one side).

Do I need to use fire rated plasterboard or will the usual stuff do? I was just planning on then skimming over the plasterboard with a layer of multifinish.

Would this be adequate or as it's behind an oven is there more I need to consider?

Cheers

normal plasterboard will do , are you not having a glass or tiled splashback / upstand?
