Are there standard splice connectors for standard RSJ sizes?

Hello everybody,

We're going to make longer steel beams (4-5 m) from shorter (2m) ones in situ in the loft. Beams are 178x102mm. I couldn't find any standard splice connectors suppliers on google, only custom designed.

Do the standard splice connectors exist at all?

Splice connections have to be designed because they depend on the load the beam is carrying, and the position of the splice along the length.
4-5m span is fairly long for a 178 x 102; it might deflect consderably depending on the load?
