Hello

I have a Kodek ESP5250 All in One Pinter and i have several error problems i cannot fix, and having searched the net i'm still no nearer to fixing it.

The 1st issue is a Ink Cartridge problem.

(1) I get a an error code stating "Black Ink Cartridge needs replacing" (Code: 3507) Having refiled the cartridge and putting it back it still keeps stating the error message.

The 2nd issue is a scanner problem. It won't scan at all, however for some reason i get two error codes...... in the following order.

(1) Scanner is busy, Unable to start scan. Try again when the scanner is ready
(Code: 106-6302}

(2) An error occurs while opening the scanner. Please check the scanner's status and
the scanner connection. [C0de:100-2106}...

The latter error one, i don't understand why i get this as there is no opening of the scanner. I close the first (Code: 106-6302} and the second [C0de:100-2106} pops up...

I'd be grateful if anyone could help me sort this out...Thanks...

I don't mean to sound rude, but has the plastic film covering the cartridge print head been removed/torn off? I made the mistake of taking HP cartridges out of the bag, whacking them straight into the printer, and forgot to remove the "peel before use" film.
For the other errors, have yuo tried reinstalling printer drivers? tried from another device?

Thanks chalkywhite for the quick reply..

This ink cartridge is an old original cartridge that was in the printer i had taken it out and refiled it and put it back in.

I've heard that cartridges are intelligent these days and may have a chip on the print head to indicate capacity. Perhaps refilling them doesnt reset the capacity status?

Thanks for reply..........It was a secondhand buy i picked up......On connecting it up all was fine, i had got one print-out of printer and that was the last of ink... Thats when i got the "Black Ink Cartridge needs replacing" (Code: 3507) so i just refilled the Ink Cartridge.

I needed to scan some paperwork so i thought ok i'll leave the ink problem and get back after doing the scanning......However the scanning did not happen as i got the above codes..........Yes....both issues happened at the same time.

Printers these days, rely upon counting the dots of ink put on the page, to decide when a cartridge is empty. If you refill a cartridge, usually you need to find a way to reset the dot count for the cartridge, before it will work again.

Turn everything off at the power source for 10+ mins to reset.
Ive had troubles and I think your printer is busy printing (it can't) so scanner won't work until you sort the printing.

Clear the printing queue.
Turn off at plug, not off button as that's not really off.

Stop messing with ink refills they are nothing but trouble.

I've signed up for hp instant ink and costs me £24 a year plus I had 6 months free in with printer which I set to 300 pages a month then dropped back to 50 when free period ended. Its a no brainer.

If you have smart phone? Open Google drive or Microsoft one drive app. Look for the big + sign and that will use the camera to scan and save as pdf. It's really simple and may get you out of fix. It's actually a great scanning tool
