Help with two leaks at Toilet Supply in flat please

Hi, could anyone here please offer any advice on how to troubleshoot/fix 2 separate leaks I have at the toilet of my flat in the two positions shown in the photos below?

The first leak spurts out of the top of the nut at the connector of the supply valve. Tightening/adjusting the nut simply adjusts the position of the leak.

The second is a drip seemingly coming from the unfamiliar large grey connectors behind the wall which I can't seem to adjust.

Turning off the supply valve stops the leaks.

The connection at the cistern needs a replacement fibre washer,or if the leak is below where your finger is pointing the service valve itself may need replacing.
The other fitting needs taking apart to establish what's wrong ,but easy to just replace it.

OK brilliant thank you very much. No its spurting from above the nut out of the top. I'll pick up a washer today for the cistern and turn off the mains to see if I can take apart the other main connectors. Thanks again.

The float valve in the cistern has a nylon (plastic) thread - change for a float valve with a brass thread

I've replaced the fibre washer at the fitting on the WC as suggested but the leak is still present. It flows out of the top heavily still. If i tighten the nut more it starts to spurt!

Show us a pic of the washer .
As the white threaded tail is plastic , when connecting the nut it can be cross threaded ,and not screwed squarely onto the thread. Ensure you are not doing that. Overtightening can also cause the joint to leak.

yeah it seems the thread is pretty worn at the bottom. do you think i can cut off the bottom bit or do i need to replace the whole thing from inside? thanks alot for this.

Is that a half inch tap connector washer ? Not sure it is. You must clean any sign of old washer from the valve ,where the washer sits.
Can't tell from pic if the plastic thread is badly damaged or not.
If in doubt fit a new float valve with brass threaded tail.
If you have any PTFE tape ,as a last resort ,you could wrap several turns around the white thread and try again ,may just seal. If you have cross threaded the nut there's no option but a new float valve.

No clue to this noob other than Its the same size as the one that was in there already! Got a few from leyland today for 20p each, - Fibre washer is all i noted and was in plumbing section and looks the same!

Threaded tail doesn't seem that damaged or cross threaded actually i think, its just dirty i guess so am trying to clean up as best i can without being able to see all the way around.

I should say its a rented flat and looks like the leaks been going on behind there long before i turned up!

I guess I'll look into replacing with brass threaded valve as everyone's now suggested.

Difficult to tell from the pic, but is the isolating valve slightly out of line with the fill valve tail?

Normal for a captive nut to be loose like that.
