Help with two leaks at Toilet Supply in flat please

Did you sort the leak on the grey pipe / fitting ?

Yeah i think i did thanks, i took it off and tightened it up at the connection and that seems to have done something there. Though its difficult to say entirely with the water still running down from the fill valve.

not sure how much out of line you mean
With the joint disconnected the mis-alignment is even more noticeable :-

Unless the axes of the two parts are co-linear there will be stress on the joint, a risk of cross-threading, unequal compression of the fibre washer, and consequently a probable leak.

Can you isolate the water before the iso valve?, if you can remove the valve and fit it to the plastic thread first, you will get better play and less chance of cross threading it.

Thanks alot Alec, theat makes sense. When I removed the bathroom housing the pipe did get moved around which definitely made the leak much worse. I have tried re-alignment but it doesn't stop the leak when i re-connect it.

Does this look better aligned to you now?

.maybe just a trick of the light ,but the white thread of the float valve looks deformed in this pic.looks wider higher up than lower down . Is it ??
Edit.. actually I think it's the WC pan behind it !!!!

Ha, thats exactly what i thought after posting the pic! It doesn't that mishapen IRL, though I've now taken the valve fully out of the cistern so i can see right the way around it and the threads are definitely partly not in great shape at the very bottom. Will pick one with a brass shank tomorrow, replace it and report back.

thanks again
