Hi All,

I have a LogiMax H15 boiler which is a Heat Only boiler. It's worked well since installation and the plumber installed a new pump about a year ago due to a minor issue it had.

It is displaying "Fd" now which apparently means "No Water Supply".

Sometimes it does work though, like two days ago this happened and then for no apparent reason the heating began working. This worked for a day or so and has now broken again.

The pump is on and making the right noises. My boiler has no guages on it. I've switched it on and off a few times but no luck.

We're arranging a plumber, but is there anything I can do in the meantime to at least kickstart the heating or try to fix the issue until he comes?

Thanks

Check your small water tank in the loft to make sure it has water in it. Do you have any leaking radiators?

1. If you have a small tank in the loft (NOT the main cold water storage cistern) this will be the feed and expansion (F&E) tank for the boiler. Then:
1a. Make sure any valve on the inlet to the tank is open.
1a. Make sure the tank has at least 4 inches of water in the bottom, but do not fill it more than half full.
2. If you have an expansion vessel (red cylindrical container with rounded ends) then your system has been sealed and will not have an F&E tank. Then:
2a. There is likely to be a pressure gauge on or near this vessel.
2b. Locate the filling loop (braided flexible hose), and open both valves on the rigid pipes either side of it until the pressure in the system rises to around 1.3 bar.
2c. You may only have one valve on the filling loop in which case use that one.
2d. The filling loop may have been disconnected and be lying loose near the expansion vessel. If so, post a photograph and we can tell you how to connect it.
2e. Make sure (both) valve(s) are fully closed once you have re-pressurised.
