Blue soil connector broken seal

Hi everyone, hoping you can help.

Been re-doing the bathroom and all going along nicely. Pushed the new toilet in to place today to check fit and when I removed it the pipe extender tore the rubber seal on the old soil connector. It's an old 80s one from a blue bathroom (oh yeh) that was in when I moved in.

The blue connector is cemented/bonded in with something (looks a bit like bitumen but white), the soil stack and original connection are cast iron.

Do you think I can replace the rubber seal or is it chipping it all out, if so I'm wondering about just replacing the entire stack instead!

Looking for a bit of advice from knowledgeable people.

Afraid that connector will need to come out, very rare the connectors will reseal after being disturbed. Cast is pretty tough, I's suspect someones sealed the gap with putty, but you should be safe tackling it with a hammer and small chisel. (Use suitable PPE!) Once original connector is removed, clean the inside of the socket up suitably to receive a new pan connector.

Replacing the stack isn't for the faint hearted, cast is very heavy.

Thanks Hugh, replacing stack was my worst case scenario so happy to try and get the pipe out. Easy does it I guess!

A McAlpine WC-CON2 will fit inside your 4" cast pipe, you can cut it down to length.

Quick update, it's cemented in! Scraped away all the gunk and it's solidly in there.

Cement will chop out, take your time and wear eye protection. Wire brush can be used to clean up mating face if need be.

The cement should still break without breaking the cast iron. As per @Hugh Jaleak

How far into the soil pipe does the blue plastic go ,3 inches maybe? If so cut off the wide bit ,clean up the inside of the blue bit that's left in the soil pipe.

Yeh it's a good 3 or 4 inches, haven't measured but had my hand in there. I've adopted a suck it and see approach so I've got the pan and waste connected and have put a few buckets of water down to test the seal ( with the soil pipe extension). Family has been warned off using it!
