Label writer

I have recently used 3 different dymo types of printer, ranging from £20 to £100.
My own is a £13 from Aldi.
They all have their limits, what one has the other does not.
The Aldi one does everything I need and the tapes were cheap.

So if your going to invest, make sure you get to know exactly what it can and cannot do first.
Otherwise just go for a cheap one and plenty of tapes.

I have that exact machine and can not rate it highly enough. It has some amazing features that I’ve not seen on any other machine.

Best features are fuse board labelling where you can set the width of the circuit breakers so the text fits perfectly

You can connect the machine to your phone via WiFi and create custom labels which incorporate actual images

For labelling wires you can get printable heat shrink cartridges which works really well

Not the clearest picture but you get the idea

Also that’s a great price from TLC I’m sure I paid near £200 for mine about 5 years ago

Can you get a spell check app for it?....

Invertor

I only have the model below that lacks the Wifi features and only goes upto 18mm tapes. It does the fuse board labelling, but I've not worked out how to rotate it for 3ph boards yet.... (might be tight on 18mm though!)

Don't they come in a kit with a mortgage application form
Not far off (a friend of mine uses them). I don't know about 'kits', but I seem to recall that 1.5m lengths of the heatshrink tubing cost around £25 - £40, depending upon size.

Kind Regards, John

UPDATE:

I bought the Brother PTE550WVP from TLC. It is a beast, spent the last 2 hours playing with it.

And once again thanks for everyone's input. (if only Diyers could be more grateful for the help we give them)
