Hi CG, when you say which ones can be trusted I take it you want something thats a bit more than a 'tick in the box face covering'? I bought a half mask respirator with several sets of reusable p3 filters as I needed some for some dust generating DIY and have vulnerable family members. You get the best protection you can from covid and you can wash the body of the mask easily and just switch between the sets of filters after you go out, quarantine each one for 72 hours if using daily. Bonus is people tend to get out of your way when they see you wearing it in the supermarket, which is fine by me :)

People are charging silly money for masks and the antibacterial ones are BS from what I can tell. A half mask respirator costs about 20 quid and same again for a few pairs of filters (good for one pandemic wave according to a 3M whitepaper I read).

Theres a bit of a run on respirators at the mo what with yonder news at the minute, but you should still find them at the usual DIY sheds but I wouldn't hang about too long to buy one.

I have a friend who made them with a layer of vacuum cleaner HEPA filter and dipped in colloidal silver but I'd personally go with a 3M/JSP/Moldex etc.

Hope that helps.

Aldi are currently selling off their full face snorkel swimming masks, you could adapt it with filters and a little electric fan then be the talk of the town when you go out wearing it :)

Any non disposable is as good as the next, they don't offer you personally much if any protection.

These masks (the ones everyone is making) are NOT designed to offer the wearer any protection.
They only protect others.

That one obviously does protect you

IMO it's better than the gimp mask you normally wear :)

My friend highly reccomend Monata reusable mask, I ordered this mask a few days ago so I think it would arrive soon.

I hate it when people buy the F8 mask, I've only just been able to get filters for it again!

I got mine from a charity fundraising group for dogs that are victims of breed specific legislation. They come with two filters and you can get more pretty cheaply
