I need to replace my shower pump but the ones I see are fixed speed (I think).

I have the speed set to "just enough" for a good shower (as opposed to "empty the hot water tank now").

I can't find a variable speed pump. Can I adjust the max flow with a valve before or after the pump? Which is best? Or neither?

More details on the pump you have now would help, but you're correct that variable speed ones no longer exist.

I couldn't find one in a search but I noticed that a Triton T550i has a control on the top and it looks like a speed control. I was surprised; but not as surprised as I was when I found the lowest cost available was at Argos. The install manual shows it as a speed control.

I've ordered it (crikey, I only broke the old one this morning, my usual response time is at least a year), and I had a 6% off voucher.

Its all going too well, maybe I'll wake up in a min, but if I do, maybe the shower pump won't be broken?

Waiting on the text from Argos - "sorry, the item you ordered is no longer available...."
