Remote Electric Shower Pack Question

Maybe it's a general electric shower question. I've installed a shower where the 'box' is in the loft, and only the controls in the cubicle.

Part of the commissioning was to run it with a purge pin in, to protect the heater bit, I assume by not allowing it to run dry. Once it runs fully, you take out the pin, enable the heater and carry on. I've never seen this before, and I've fitted 6 electric showers over the years.

The rub: it says to repeat this dance whenever the water supply is interrupted, which might be an arse. Anyone seen this stipulation on an electric shower before? Is it over the top, or should I do the biz each time?

My normal wallmount electric shower says in the manual must be run on cold for a couple of minutes after any water supply interruption. Your box (being sealed rather than open vent) may be more prone to trapping air.

Normally just turn to full cold and run it on that for a while, but yes you should do it with any electric shower
