I'm renovating my kitchen, and as part of this I need to deal with condensation build up as a result of solid walls and plaster being used.

Anyhow to the job I need doing:

I have a baxi boiler and want it removed from the wall (incl pipes) temporarily for. Week or so, to enable me to take the wall back to bare brick, put tanking slurry on, then install insulated board and skim.

I then need the boiler reinstalled in the same location. See pic of boiler below

I'm pretty confident at DIY - is it just a case of drain down all CH and hot water, turn boiler off, cut pipes coming out of bottom of boiler and take off wall?

if I was to get a plumber in how much can I expect to pay to remove and reinstate?

1. You can't disconnect the gas unless you are Gas Safe registered.
2. Why cut the pipes. Just disconnect below the boiler and re-connect when finished.
3. You will need a Gas Safe Registered installer to reconnect the gas, the flue and the condensate.
4. If it is going back EXACTLY where it comes from, not even a millimetre further from / closer to the wall it should be very straight forward. Otherwise it will probably need a new flue.
5. You will need to measure very carefully horizontal and vertical positioning, relative to something which won't change to allow it to be put back as it is.
6. Before I retired I'd have been looking at between 2 and 3 hours to reconnect, refill, bleed and recommission. Time and materials, no fixed price quotation. So an estimate of between £150 and £240 plus parts (new inhibitor, new flue if required).

I'd allow for a new flue personally. There's no guarantee the seals will re-seal properly on the old flue when it's reinstalled

you need Gas Safe registered person to do the work. remove and put it back. anything between £200-£400 is reasonable.
by the way, you don't need two power cord to the boiler. connect the mains to the heat link box then just one cable to the boiler is enough.
by the chance to re-plastering the wall, you may hide the cable from heat link to the boiler, may is nice and tidy.

Cheers -the second cable (newest looking one) is for a wireless thermostat

Just leave the boiler as it is, the heat generated by the boiler will stop any condensation behind it , you are over thinking a problem that you dont have

After posting I did think to just sack it off and work around it
