Hi
I ge that when i am using speed fit 15mm i need to use the STS when going up plastic to plastic.

I need to join this to a couple of radiators which have a compression olive fitting on the trv end and the shield end, should i be using the plain one (TSM) so i can use the olive on the fitting?

Or are the STS ones able to be used in both instances? ie don't use the olive

Confused

According to John Guest, the manufacturer of Speedfit, a plain insert should be used with compression fittings. You would get away with superseal inserts as long as the pipe is inserted far enough into the fitting so that the olive sits on the pipe beyond the insert. Whichever insert you use, the olive must be in place or there will be nothing holding the pipe in the fitting.

i think i will get some of the plain ones :) many thanks

Yes, use standard inserts. The superseals have the rubber o-ring just there the olive can compress the pipe, not advisable.
