Hi
Had this fridge a while now 6 years +, it has 2 LED lights.
Over the last 6 months it intermittently would not light the LEDs when you open the door.
Now they dont operate at all, also noticed when I open the door the fan at the top keeps spinning where as before when you opened the door the fan would stop immediately.

Anyone had this fault or similar ?
Any thoughts or tests would be appreciated able to use a multi meter and soldering iron :)

Hi Foxhole,

Not sure exactly what you mean...
do you mean like a digital temp read out etc ?
no nothing like that at all just storage

cheers

Usually the switch for the light is a button released by opening door or wiring in door and operated by magnetic in top of door edge . Do you know which type you have?

The fridge has a push type switch located at the top of the fridge, so when door shuts it pushes it in
cheers

Does anything change when you operate the switch manually? It would be the first thing I would check, it may need continuity check with a multimeter from common to normally open & normally closed.

@JJ
no change at all the fridge thinks (imo) the door is closed. I am sure in the past when you opened the door light would come on and if the circulating fan at top of the fridge was running it would stop immediately. Now when we open the door if the fan is running it will continue running.

I think I did check the switch but at the time is was more intermittent. I will pull the switch out and test again for confirmation.

I called bosch technical to get some insight he suggested that both LED lights failed ... at the same time ....

Cheers

Switch is good both NC and NO terminals good continuity, has a live feed coming in to common of switch and then a purple wire from NO goes into the plastic and into the body
Cheers

It’s essential for the fan to turn off when door is open to avoid drawing in moist air .

@foxhole
Yes which Is what i assumed but the tech guy at Bosch thought other wise lol...
But there is something not happy circuit related that thinks the door is shut all the time.

if I could get a circuit diagram may have half a chance to sort it... the wire from the switch goes into the fridge so not sure where it goes ...

Spent some time today looking for a schematic no joy

Cheers
