Hi,
A few nights ago I set "night set" on my Galaxy G2-12 and closed/locked the door, as I often do when off to work. OH phoned a few mins later with an alarm condition, fault shown was entry t/o front door. I'm guessing the alarm thinks the front door had been opened but it hadn't. I've since walk tested it and it tests fine, and I set it to soak for a few days with no problems.

Are magnetic door contacts prone to faults, what would you professionals do in this instance?

TIA

I had the same trouble with my front door, due to the door dropping slightly. I moved the magnet a couple of mm closer and it was fine.(y)

Has the door banged shut recently, are this could fracture the reed ?
Has this started when frosty and cold .
Contacts can also stick open and close.

Thanks mate, there doesn't seem to be any damage, and it hasn't done it again since. Looks like I'll just need to monitor it.

Update... it did the same again another night. Walk tested it again later that day but on one of my open-close procedures the test said the door was still open.

Ordered and fitted a replacement a couple of weeks ago and haven't had any bother since. Fingers crossed
Thanks again for your help
