Thanks for that

EONs developer team did fit the meter for our housing developer and then became deemed contract supplier for supplies.

Doesnt mean that they actually installed it, not many do, from their own website

This will depend on the work required and your location. Your meter will either be installed by our Energy Services business or by a third-party supplier.

They may not have physically installed it, but they facilitated and organised the fitment.

They cannot escape the responsibility for contractors they arranged

Totally agree, but as already said , dont make that the biggest part of your case , I would be saying , you have sent me a bill for meter serial numer xxx, mine is xxy can you send me the bill for my meter please

Yea regarding that, EON said "it's quite a big cosmetic change at our end"

No idea why the word cosmetic came into it, but they gave the feeling they didnt want to do it which is odd

Just get OFGEM involved , they will soon change their tune then, as said as soon as OFGEM contact them about the wrong serial number , it will go straight upstairs to a senior manager and they will be told to get it sorted, far too many man hours to worry about a gas bill, all these companies make hundreds of millions by buying gas volumes at a certain price and selling it at a different price, they are not in any way gas companies , they are merely re-sellers
