Good morning all. Is it more economical to keep the gas boiler at 60 or pump it up to 75? Also is 8 units of gas in 24 hours at 48 pence a unit alot?

Yes, if it is a modern condensing boiler and it has sufficient power to keep your house warm at that setting. Large radiators do not need to run as hot as small ones for the same output.

The amount of heat you use depends on various things, especially the quality of your insulation and draughtproofing, the size of your home, and the difference between internal temperature and external temperature.

You are not charged per cubic metre. You are charged per kWh. There are roughly 11.2kWh in a cubic metre. Around 2.5p per kWh for gas, plus standing charge plus VAT is not unusual but it depends where you are and what tariff you have chosen. You can search on

Prepayment is more expensive.

Energy from electricity is a lot more expensive.
