Hi

Paid plumber to fit tap in bathroom sink. Job has been done and plumber now left. Unfortunately, I’ve now noticed a gap between ledge and wall tiles. (As per photo) Clearly caused by the pushing and pulling plumber did trying to get under sink. Would you use sealant or some sort of strip to cover the gap. Quite a George Raft coming through as well.

Thanks

It should have been siliconed in the first place. Clear or white, up to you.

Why didn't the "plumber" do it? That's poor workmanship imo

Thanks. Good question re plumber. Only brief acknowledgment that problem could have been caused by them. The problem now is that there is no gap on one side of the sink, but v obvious on the other.

Plumber should be putting it right but if you don't want to go that route it's easy to sort yourself if you have a sealant gun. Get a decent sanitary silicone

The work top could not have been fitted correctly in the first place. If so would not have had movement.

Can’t comment on ledge as kitchen was fitted 15 years ago. Will look at other gizmo, but crap at applying sealant full stop. Have now paid plumber, so no hope of then coming back to rectify. Another example of “never again” with a contractor.

Thanks

There are some crap plumbers out there but he may be a good one. Its worth a call to see what he thinks.

Saying that you cant blame the plumber for your historical plumbing and whats associated with it...... 15 Years

Already had a conversation with plumber. I’m not blaming them for damage, but for lack of interest/empathy when I pointed it out.
