Sky dish question.

I have a sky satellite dish mounted on my house that I haven’t used for near on 25 years. I still have the cable going to my lounge. I have no idea what happened to the receiver. If I were to get a receiver, would I still pick up a satellite on it? If not (because satellite no longer there) could it be repositioned to pick up another satellite, (Freesat?). All I can remember from when I installed it was that it was pointed 19.2° East. I think!

There are plenty of channels on 19.2E, however unlikely to be what you want.
Sky moved to 28.2E a couple of decades ago, that's also where Freesat is.

if the dish has not been used for many years then even if you get a receiver i doubt you would get any channels.Reason being that the LNB on the dish(if there is one)would be degraded and useless now.Also the LNB would need to be the new latest type to receive the signals.

LNBs don’t degrade like that. It will probably still work but the channels may be limited. Earlier LNBs were single band so will only get half the available channels.
