Everlite polycarbonate sheets

I have acquired some of these:


I want to make a carport with them but can't find much information about them, other than them being discontinued.
I haven't got any glazing bars, just the sheets and the metal reinforcement strips. I'm trying to think of a way to join them and fix them down - I'm thinking purlins at right angles with thin woodscrews through the panels where they fit together (I wouldn't need the metal bits in there) and some sort of capping on top, maybe butyl tape or flashing tape?
I know it's a bodge but that's what it is.

As far as I can see they fit together like this, but I can't believe that by itself is a weathertight joint with that little strip of tape:

Throw them in the skip. Without the bars they are useless. You can’t use any other normal bar and to try and ‘flash it’ is just going to look a bodge.

The sheets work like the ultra lite system. You install all the bars first and then the poly slides up along the bar from the front. It doesn’t lay onto the bar like standard poly. The idea was to have the lowest pitched poly roof on the market but you had to get the bars so perfect for it to work.

We binned about 100 of these sheets 2 years ago. Horrible things. Sorry.

there should be a thin aluminium bar the length of the panels that slots between the joined panels. this locks them together. I think from memory the length of free span without support is 3.5 to 4M
stainless screws and an inch long aluminium u bracket held them down to what ever support they rest on. you could get wall brackets for them but I doubt any are around now. use a 6x4 beam instead and plenty of silicone

I'm with MW roofline - Throw those sheets in a skip.

It's never a good idea to plan a project based on the materials that you just happen to have available. The project will invariably end up as unsightly and non functional bodge job. Design the project properly first and then plan the construction and procure the required materials.
