I'm fitting a smaller window in my bathroom today (12 Dec) (each side of the opening will be bricked up by 9"), I'm thinking of adding some frostproofer in the mix, does the stuff actually work?

No frost forecast round here for the next few nights so depends where you are. I’d just cover it up with a sheet overnight

Yes you do need to cover brick work with a soft material frost will damage mortar if left un covered over night below certain temps

Frostproofer is cheap, just splash the cash for piece of mind.
I think it's not needed, but would you trust a drunk bloke on a diy disaster forum?
It's only a fiver and builders merchants are opened tomorrow.
