Took a chimney breast out a few weeks back, it was a floating chimney breast. Well, I went into the attic today and the small bit of small left behind was wobbling, so as you do? I took it down ‍♂️
I’ve attached photos, just need to check if it’s safe now?!

Those breeze blocks are what the bricks were sitting on, also that big joist is tied into the outside wall, correct?!

any help would be appreciated, thank you.

The big beam is your purlin which may be attached to a barge board.
The Breeze blocks look like a bit more support for the purlin

In which case you should infill the old flue and bond or tie the new work to the existing.

it’s too late to do that in the bathroom now, the old flue has been boarded over and there’s a shower tight against the wall, my mrs would go ape **** if we had to pull that out now and re do it.

I’m going to rebuild the bit in the attic this week, but, aside from that will it be safe?

I’m a total novice so sorry for sounding thick. Just need to know my house is safe.
