Glad to report that my plasterer is tidy, hardly anything anywhere except where it should be.
When the builder did the plastering, I thought for a moment they also put levelling screed on the floor at the same time.

Dunno where you're coming from - yet you say you can live off unearned rental income so you should have ideas about costs from having repairs completed.

But...

With no idea on where you are located not really able to give accurate day rate costings, so out of London,

All Tradies 'Time served' and paying Tax!
C&J - Minimum of £200 per day, with a workshop add £50 to £75.
Bricky's & Plasterers £200 - £250 per day - depending on how many days they are on site.
Plumbers & Electricians - £220 - £275 and more if registered with a professional body.
Painters and Decorators minimum £175.
All plus VAT

Labourers for Brickies/Plasterers £120-£150 per day.

Inside M25 add up to £100 per day.

Gosforth Handyman and Peter Millard both give day rate breakdowns look them up!

Whenever my plasterer mate has done a ceiling for me, he gets it everywhere - floors, doors and widows. When I pull him up he always says "No charge for that". Cheeky bugger, mind you, he never charges me nor I him when I do his car.

You can't really find a day rate.
When I gave quotes I had in my mind £200/day and always added a day to the job, or a week.
It depends what job it is, how many tools you need to carry, access, whether you need a helper, etc.
As a carpenter, a day work fitting 3 internal doors and frames (old ones already out) I would charge £200.
But 5 days to fit a kitchen would set you at £2k.
A bespoke handmade fitted wardrobe of 3 metres (week work) would set you at £3/4k finished.
Carved cabinet doors with your initials and finished in hand painted details? Add £200/door.
You might say: it only takes you half hour to carve a letter and another half hour to decorate it, to which I reply: "Do it yourself then!"

£200/day is mates rates all day long for skilled. £250 at least/day going rate up here in the N.
