Mould growth - How is it happening here

Hi,
I'm having mould growth happening on this part of the ceiling. It's the front facing bedroom which has a flat roof above. I guess it's covered with felt. I live in a mid-terraced house.
Any suggestions what is causing this and what can be done to get rid of this? I've used mould remover, but it just keeps coming back.
The paint is also flaking now. Should i paint it with a gloss paint so that I can wipe it down in the future (although a gloss paint would smell for longer making the room uninhabitable for my kids)? or is there something else which can be done for a permanent solution to this.

OP,
It looks like condensation -
To reduce it there should be trickle vents and a rad below.
Dont go painting anything until you know more.

For Christmas, for the time being, why not wipe off the mould with any of the available anti-moulds?
You show an outside view of what looks like someone else's bay, not yours? How come?
If you open a top opener you can reach out with a camera on a stick, and photo the fascia, the gutter and the roof felt,
and maybe where the pitched roof meets the flat roof?
- then post the pics on here.

Perhaps the OP is friendly with their neighbour and popping round next door was the easiest way of getting that shot? Stranger things have happened...

There are millions of properties that have 2 front [or / and ] rear facing bay windows? not uncommon in Georgian / Victorian and later dwellings.

Just showed my neighbours, as it's the same as mine, for reference.
Will try to click pictures on a dry day. Thanks for all your advice.

I don't know. I don't think it really makes a lot of different tbh, people see new posts and reply.
Mods can merge them if they wish.

Moss from the roof rolling down into new gutter and blocking it?
