Go for it.
My wife pushed me at the time to get a nice car instead of another half banger and never regretted it.
Only downside is that now I can't drive anything small, slow or cheaply made.

I know a bloke who bought one of them, burning it up one day, he spotted old bill and put his foot down, blues and twos, pulls over, copper says "why did you accelerate when you spotted me?", he replies "if I give you an excuse you've never heard before will you let me off", copper says " go on then give it a try". "Well he says its like this, sadly a few months ago my beautiful wife of 20 years ran off with a traffic officer and when I saw you I thought

that's him trying to bring her back, I'm off" "have nice day" says the copper

I genuinely don't understand the fascination of the escort cosworth.
I do, especially the early big turbo version. and the sierra cosworth and the sapphire cosworth.
I had a sapphire cossie 20 years ago.
what about the fascination with mk1s and 2s . even more wierd

I get that, but why is the escort to be deemed worthy of £85k whereas the Sierra Cossie is £10k
you wont get a sierra mint with that low mileage for under 40k now.
sure a rs500 went for 100k recently

Since when did that become so valuable? When are cars from the 80's/90's worth this kind of money? Is it the specific model that's so valuable?

Escort rs turbos are fetching at least 10k in good nick.

I remember when you could pick them up for £50 with tax and test....

Even an old MK2 xr2 are around 6-10k at least.

People do love an old ford

Prices of old cars have gone through the roof and in doing so it's kept used car prices bouyant.

I was surprised at the £100k price of that Ford.

I was astounded at the £100k price of that Ford. Are these £10k prices specifically for vintage Fords or are other car brands valuable? What about Austin Allegros, Mini Coopers, VW Golf, VW Beetle, Audi Quattro and Hillman Imps?

It's across all the brands really.. mostly the halo models (high performance variants)

Japanese imports from the mid nineties are just as bad
