Make sure you know where you want the new boxes that terminate the fibres installed otherwise it will be in the easiest position for Openreach. Not a simple matter to move once installed. Needs a mains supply as well.

Thanks guys according to BT its up to the engineers own judgement when boxes cabling etc will go, they have done a few on our street and its terrible looking, boxes outside the front door and cable coming through the wall and running around the skirting and door frames inside the house to the router inside, one neighbour has the router sitting on the stairs as the engineer said its the only place as there is an outlet plug.

Does the cable run come into the house the same way as the normal phone line?
And im guessing this is another box separate to the master-socket?

I would like the new cable to follow the same run as the old one does but the engineer i spoke to last week said due to time constraints he didnt think it would be possible to do it the way i was looking it done, dissapointing considering the money they charge us monthly.

It's mind over matter.

They don't mind, and you don't matter.
