Pyronix 'engineer restore required' after removing sensor cover?

Well all the work paid for by the insurance company?

A little late now, but don't recommend being off site with trades people you don't know.

My sister had some work done by the insurance chosen trades person, the work had to be redone, wasn't as extensive as yours by any means.
Had a car that got damaged a few year ago hand brake fail, sent the car back twice after seeing the poor/ lack of repair to the vehicle (it was never off loaded), had an independent come out to validate the state of the vehicle and what repairs needed doing that could be attributed to the incident, it found over £2k's worth of work was still needed, the insurance then wrote it off.

Download a copy of the installation manual.
Right down all the devices you have.
Work out how you would like it all to work.
Ask if its possible.
Then work through one thing at a time.

Hi - Huge thanks again.

I never want to interact with a builder or an insurer ever again...

The insurer gutted most of our house then after a year said they couldn't find a builder (!) to do the repair work. So we got a single quote from a random local builder simply to show it was possible to get a quote. Out of the blue, the insurer gave us money to cover that single quote (no project management) and washed their hands of it all. Builder did 2/3 of work badly then sued for more than his full (and generous) quote amount. Independent surveyors found we'd already paid more than his work was worth. We settled out of court so we could get on with life. Net - we lost a lot of money, lived on a building site for 3 years and are now finishing or re-doing a lot of work ourselves. Some of it can't realistically be fixed. But the lump sum did technically cover the cost of the alarm.

If anyone else ever accepts a lump sum payment for a large insurance repair -- do make sure it covers the cost of a QUALIFIED, INDEPENDENT project manager or surveyor to oversee the work. Til the last 2 days of 5 months discussing this with the insurer, I thought the insurer would be overseeing the work as they had at the start. We didn't set out to get a lump sum payment, they just suddenly said that was what they were doing, at a point I was too tired to fight any more.
