Hello everyone.

I am in the Bearsden area.

I have received planning approval for an extension to my home.

Whilst we will not have to move out I will need to remove a lot of furniture and belongings... too much to be stored elsewhere within the home.

Therefore I need storage. To quantify how much storage at this stage is difficult... it would be a kitchen, family room, cellar and garage of contents.

I have recently become aware you can hire containers.... so could put on in the garden which would allow us access to belongings.

I look forward to any ideas / recommendations you have.

Kind regards, Gordon

If you don’t need it on site, the self service containers on secure sites are likely to be cheaper

If the extension work is external, apart from any knock through why does such a lot of furniture need to me moved out?

Has any planning of the work schedule taken place?

If you go for a container in your garden, keep an eye out for transport costs at start & end of hire, if you need crane to get the thing in it'll add a grand. If you're storing stuff sensitive to humidity/conhedensation, either buy a cheap dehumidifier for the thing (and see if the one you hire has any cable entries) or air it out daily (doors open, big fan).
The remote location storage sites are decent on price (specially for a couple of months) but you'll need a van and a fair bit of time to do all the ferrying
