My bathroom fitted a bathroom. I have not paid yet. There is a a few mm of thread showing because he said he only realised once he started tiling that the pipe came out too far.

Is there anyway to sort this out without smashing tile ?

Yes, water off remove all fittings, carefully cut olive off the "longer pipe". Cut pipe to correct length, normally 25mm then new olive and refit shower. I'm not sure why your bathroom fitter couldn't solve it

I think it’s just a bit of lazy ness . He has now replied to say he will sort it. I presume if that doesn’t work he can shower by different sleeves like the one in pictures.

Has he used the ridiculous dog leg connectors that get sold with bar mixers? I've seen some truly awful installations with them. Diy usually but also from bathroom fitters and people who call themselves plumbers.

Those things are Satan's work indeed :)
