hello!

99% sure I can do this but never hurts to check.

I have 3 sockets in my utility , they are all on the same breaker but 1 socket is on a separate cable to the CU.

Currently the cables are very messy on the walls so looking to neaten it all up, hide in trucking etc.

I assume I can lead both cables coming from the CU to a terminal block in a junction box, and just have a single cable to feed to the sockets. My guess is the second cable was put in after the first for the extra socket given all the other cables go through one hole but this comes through a second.

Pic below hopefully explain what i mean .

Thanks in advance!

You only need one cable from CU to JB, then all socket cables connected to that cable in the JB.

What size is the MCB?

Two cables (radial circuits) from one MCB is fine.

Yes, I'm just trying to avoid going into the CU. Plan was just to join the two in a JB essentially making them one. They're on a 20 amp MCB.

Just wanted to check that wouldn't be a big no-no for some reason.

Thanks a lot

If you want to have the junction box hidden, then it must be of the maintenance free variety.

I don't really have anywhere to hide it so that won't be an issue, however I didn't know about that. For future reference, does that mean any connections that can't be accessed once complete can't use a standard terminal strip (clear plastic-screw in type)?

Thanks

Yes, that's exactly what it means. If you search the forum for "maintenance free" you will find a lot of discussion on this and links to several suitable products, e.g.:

do not use a terminal block, instead use a few wago's

Noted, thanks. Won't be an issue for this project as everything will be easily accessible but good to know if it comes up in future
