This leak developed about a year ago and I would like to get around go fixing it. I hace never soldered but I have the flux, solder, torch etc. But perhaps I do not need it? Can anyone advise on how to repair this leak?
If it's from the left leg joint of the tee then it will need remade.
If you haven't soldered before then it could be tricky as soldering 22mm needs a little more heat etc to ensure it solders properly and therefore easier for the joint not to take properly. Using a yorkie would make that process easier.
You could also disassemble the joint using heat (pipe needs to be completely empty of water and take the centre of the drain valve out otherwise the seals will burn). Clean the ends up of all solder once the tee's off using a bit of heat and a wet rag, then you could use a compression tee (copper olives) to remake the joint.
Probably just needs a new washer. Drain down the system , unscrew the square headed bit ,to fully remove . The washer is on the end of it. Take it to a plumbers merchant to match it for a new one. The drain cock washers are fairly standard.
