So before I start, I have a boiler man coming tomorrow, but I'll just share an update.

Yesterday, with the boiler not working I set about trying to get it to work. I saw the oil in the tank was very low, but it was not empty. So, I filled 120l of kero into the tank & bled the boiler though the bleed screw into an empty milk jar. I had maybe half a litre in the jar and and after it settled (I let it sit for a day until this morning) there was some orangey gunge sediment type stuff there. Like it wasnt just kero in the jar.

So today I tried bleeding again, and there was still some gunk, but not as much & the boiler still wasnt firing. I noticed that when i took the bleed screw fully off, and when what I think was the pump trying to kick in, the fuel didnt "shoot" any further out of the bleed pipe (if hat makes sense), like the pump has no power. Would that be right? Did running the tank low of fuel introduce this orange gunk into the pump & wreck it?

I took a picture of inside my tank after i added the 120l of kero. The outlet of the tank to the boiler as you may be able to see has this gunk running into it as well. I have another 80l of kero in jars, I dont want to add it incase the tank is wrecked with this gunk. What is this gunk, could it have wrecked my pump? WOuld the filter on the tank not stop this stuff reaching the pump?

Thanks guys, appreciated the help & input.

Rusty water by the looks of it.
That's why I said to check. Your fault is typical of this.
I presume the tank is steel.

In your first clip the motor was stalled.
In the second clip it was running, What did you do .

Hi Terry, to get the motor running again, I “unplugged it & then plugged it back in again”....

Now, update..

1 new oil pump later and the boiler is running. Boiler man says that the oil ran low & it probably sucked in gunk to the pump and killed it.

he checked the oil coming into the filter for water but all was good, no water.

there was a very poor oil flow to the filter - there was blockage (in the bend of the metal pipe) between the outlet of the oil tank and the oil filter. He Stuck a screwdriver thing up it and hit it with a hammer, blockage cleared, black gunk.

the oil tank is actually plastic...

thanks for all the help guys.
