Hi,

we have a leaky kitchen tap. See pictures. I am guessing to fix it we need to remove the tap covers and clean and remove the limescale from the cartridge. But we cannot get the tap covers off to access it. There are no screws, and we have tried pulling them off but they don’t budge! I am not sure it they are just stiff or if this type of tap doesn’t even work this way. Perhaps we have to replace the entire tap? Any help would be much appreciated. It is driving me crazy!

Is there a blanking plate at the end? show a photo.
If there isn't I would guess the knob is piulled/levered off.

Try unscrewing the rod/lever you use to open/close the tap. You may find a fixing in there.

So 4 possibilities:
1. Cap on end of knob comes out to reveal screw (per Diyisfun).
2. There is a grub screw in the round body of the knob, probably round the back or underneath.
3. Unscrewing the rod reveals a grub screw (per. denso13).
4. It just pulls off (per Diyisfun).

Hi, thanks for all your answers. I have unscrewed the rods and there doesn’t seem to be a grub screw, see the picture. And no grub screws on the tap itself. Even used a mirror to check thoroughly behind. I guess will have to just try to pull it off again. As nothing else seems to work.

Unscrew the levers and remove ,pull or lever the chrome off.
If that fails fit a new tap .
