I prefer option 2.
But, I had a new Velux window fitted in my attic recently. It hinges in the middle and I really wanted one that hinges at the top, so that I could flip it fully open and get access to the roof. The middle hinge means that I can't get out and opening it fully just means that it hits me on the back of the head.

I'd make sure the architect knew what he was doing structurally before sending me all those poncey graphics.
There is a lot going on with those roof junctions and the roof pitches could get a bit sticky if large (deep) beams are required above the large opening. This may affect whether the Velux windows will work (min pitch) etc.

did think about that, area is approx just under 100m2.... having such a large flat roof not cause issues?
