So, who's had it yet and have you developed an Oxford accent or an appetite for Belgian waffles?

I'm in and now sound 5% more posh. It took 4 minutes between knocking on my GPs door to leaving the building. Top tip, apparently you shouldn't drive for 15 minutes after having the AZ jab.

you should be kept in for 15mins to check no reaction, so you should NOT have been allowed to leave the building for 15mins

That's Pfizer, AZ doesn't need that waiting time.

The AZ one is actually quite close to a flu shot in terms of structure, which is tried and tested. The Pfizer mRNA one is new and exciting and seems to have some chance of anaphylactic reactions for people with underlying allergies.

Is this like that post the other day when someone posted a plan of his bungalow - which looked like Southfork Ranch with a pool and everything and asked about roof windows, when all it was was a "look what I've got" humblebrag?

An element of me sharing because in two weeks I get to be as worried by Covid as everyone else, rather than having to remain locked in my house even beyond lockdown restrictions as I have for more or less the whole last year. I'm happy and wished to share.

Also an element of sharing a positive vaccine story to help encourage others.

But mostly a brag, despite me doing nothing to earn it beyond having a crap immune system.

It's good to hear you've got your vaccine, if you have a suppressed immune system or auto immune disorder, it must feel really good to have had the vaccine.

If they offer you a flu jab, take it, lol.

Flu sucks.

If a job stops you getting it, it's a no-brainer.

Mts Mottie had hers a week ago. All NHS health workers were offered it. I presume Lally’s medic sons were offered it too but she’s not yet confirmed whether they accepted it or are following her 'wait and see' mantra. I suppose we never will - far too personal to be shared.

My mum has had hers too and she asked the black district nurse that calls round every day to administer her injections whether she will have it. "No" was the reply and she didn’t want to discuss it. I understand many BAMEs who are said to suffer Covid proportionally more than other races are against the vaccination. I can’t understand that.

I got my letter today from my renal consultant via my GP to say I am classed as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable so should move me up the list. My CKD has created an auto immune disorder in that my immune system doesn't always know when to switch off. Apparently I am also eligible for priority shopping deliveries but as we are both physically able to go shopping we will continue with our 'defence' regime and continue going ourselves. This way we may be freeing up a slot for someone more needy.

Since a surprising stint in hospital about 5 years ago with puneomnia I've paid for a flu jab ever since and last year paid for a puneomnia jab though they last 7 years or something, it's a no brainer.
