..Meanwhile, over in the USA non-indigenous invaders seek to wipe out their reds.

Why do you not start a new thread and what you think the solutions is

I want to know if I can have one of those feeders, there's a nest nearby and my desire to get an air rifle and snipe the little buggers has been vetoed by the boss.

What about an opinion then?
On what? You haven't said what the problem is I'm meant to solve or have an opinion on.
All I've done is liken one invading species with another and highlighted the similar effects.

Lots of greys here, we see them most days playing in the back garden.
Same here, but not for long.

Paraqees are also on the increase

I like them

as for grey squirrels apparently they damage wood land by stripping bark off of trees

mass extermination of them would cause an issue

so contraception seems the most humane way of getting them numbers down

my mate lives in the sticks

looking after the place for him whilst he is away

loads of grey squirrels
Resident buzzards
Deer
Moles running riot

foxes I feed them

I know they've spread along the Thames for many years now. I did a refurb in Wraysbury about 7 years ago and a dozen of them would descend into the garden every morning. My understanding was that a pair escaped in Windsor many years ago and the original pattern did seem to be that they spread both ways along the river. They were talking about them on the radio the other day, one caller claimed that Jimi Hendrix owned a pair in the 60's and decided to set them free. Anyway the reason they were mentioned them is because they're talking about wether they should be culled.
Leave 'em alone I say and cull the ******* seagulls.
