Connect bottle trap waste

I'm just fitting a new basin and bottle trap in my bathroom and just wondering how best to connect my chrome bottle trap waste pipe to my 40mm waste coming through the tiled wall.

So the 40mm plastic waste comes out horizontally and lines up with the chrome pipe.

I can fit the chrome pipe inside of the 40mm waste work a small amount of wiggle.

I'm thinking of placing the chrome pipe 3 to 4 inches into the waste pipe then applying lots of sealant to hopwfully seal any gaps between the two pipes.

I did consider a compression coupler but that will stop me using the chrome end fitting that tidies up the pipe end.

Any ideas / help appreciated.

Buy a chrome compression coupler to join the two ,and fit it close to the wall.
